Submission Guidelines

The Congress aims to promote a broad reflection on the problems of Humanism and Citizenship, focusing on the challenges, opportunities and threats of today. On the issues of the (re)construction of full citizenship in the context of current problems and the impacts of crises, in different spheres.

This event takes place biannually under the aegis of CeiED of Universidade Lusófona. Congresses I and II were held in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

The Congress will address various expressions of Citizenship and Humanism, focusing on Human Rights in the most diverse thematic areas: citizenship education, global citizenship and development, political science, religion, sports, social and community intervention, social work, among others.

Through studies and research work by the participants, the discussion and reflection on these topics is an opportunity to produce, disseminate and exchange scientific knowledge around the conferences and papers presented.

The Congress is aimed at citizens with a critical conscience, academics, researchers, educators, teachers and students, school managers and principals, covering all levels of the formal education system and informal contexts of teaching and learning, as well as the various areas of social intervention. Thus, the event is open to the participation of all those interested in contributing with their ideas, reflections, studies and proposals to help rethink a world marked by uncertainties.

Participation in the Congress can be in two modalities: with or without presentation of communication.

Communication is made through registration and submission of an abstract (mandatory).

Communications (oral or poster) must be based on empirical works related to the themes and topics of the congress, described below.

The abstract of the papers should not exceed 2500 characters (including spaces and 3 to 5 keywords), in one of the following languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English or French. All validated and admitted abstracts will be published in e-book.

The authors of the papers must indicate the following information: name(s); affiliation; and institutional e-mail address.

The Abstract must be submitted in a Word file on the Easychair platform.

Articles (optional)

Any participant who presents a paper may submit a paper. In this case, you must send the full text of the article by December 15, 2023, based on the following criteria: written in the APA standard (7th Ed.); It should be between 7 and 10 pages or 7000 to 10000 words (including tables, figures, and references). It must be sent in a Word file; the 12th body, Times New Roman font. It should include the abstract with 3 to 5 keywords. It can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, English, or French. All validated and admitted full texts will be published in E-book.

The authorship of the papers must indicate the following information: name(s); affiliation; and institutional e-mail address.

Professor Carlos Fiolhais

He has a degree in Physics from the University of Coimbra and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Goethe University. He is a full professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Coimbra.

He held several management positions and founded and directed the Center for Computational Physics. He is the director of the Rómulo Centro Ciência Viva of the University of Coimbra and one of the most important national science communicators. He has published dozens of books and textbooks and hundreds of scientific and pedagogical articles.
