“Girando” is an itinerant festival that aims to promote the debate on territory and mobilities through visual arts. It focuses on the bicycle and its collaboration to re-appropriate and redesign the city, configure identities and bring inhabitants and territories together. We invite submissions of films that relate to these themes, portraying the uses and impact of bicycles.

The festival will take place in different places in the parish of Marvila (Lisbon, Portugal), especially in open-air spaces, and involves the local community in its preparation and execution, enhancing participatory curatorial sessions. It contemplates an international call for films as well as audiovisual production by local youth.

“Girando” is a festival organized by Associação Descalçada within the framework of the project Roda Viva (Bip/Zip 2021, Lisbon City Council), a project in partnership with Rés do Chão 119 Associação, Rimas ao Minuto, Grupo Recreativo Janz e Associados, Junta de Freguesia de Marvila and CeiED-COFAC/Universidade Lusófona.
