Biographical note

Researcher, artist, independent curator and critic. PhD in Communication and Semiotics at PUC-SP. Postdoctoral degree at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. He is a professor at the Federal University of Pará. He is a curator of the Amazonian Art Collection at UFPA. Received, among other awards, the Scholarship of Stimulus Funarte for Critical Production in Arts (2008); Marcantonio Vilaça Plastic Arts Prize 2010 of Funarte and the Connections Visual Arts Award – MINC | Funarte | Petrobras 2012. Curators: Amazon, art, 2010; Contra-pensamento Selvagem (within Chaos and Effect), 2011; Project Amazon, Place of Experience, 2012, etc. As an artist she has participated in art projects in the country and abroad, in individual and collective exhibitions, such as: Horizonte Generoso – An experience in Pará, 2015, Rio de Janeiro, Luciana Caravello Gallery; Transborda, Galeria Triangulo, SP, 2016; Pororoca – The Amazon in the MAR, Art Museum of Rio de Janeiro, RJ, 2014; 35 Arte Pará as guest artist with the installation Algures, or the First Kiss, 2016 and this year also as a guest artist.

Art and Artistic Heritage in the Amazon – Reflecting on the Amazoniana Art Collection of the Federal University of Pará While a Territory of Living Experiences and Knowledge in Flow

This doctoral research project is a study of the processes generated from the Amazoniana Art Collection of the Federal University of Pará as a territory of experiences and knowledge construction, which is established in a dynamic, collaborative and in flow, in a sociomuseal perspective to perceive sociocultural trajectories of artists in the Brazilian Amazon region and how issues affecting the region are articulated in works, in the experience of living in the Amazon, and that generate a set of documents cataloged in the Archive of the said Collection, as well as provide articulations of these artists in the public sphere.
