Participation of CeiED Researcher Elsa Estrela – 6th World Curriculum Studies Conference
The 6th World Curriculum Studies Conference was held between 10 and 12 December at the Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne, Australia. This conference had 3 Keynotes, 3 panels, 15 symposia and about 128 individual communications, with more than 200 researchers from 32 different nationalities participating.
With the title Transnational Curriculum Inquiry: Challenges and Opportunities in Changing World and the subtopics Decolonising the Curriculum, Knowledge Questions and Curriculum Dilemmas and Curriculum Inquiry and the Historical Imagination, this conference sought to be a space of questioning and critical reflection regarding the field of curricular studies, which is going through a particularly complex time and faces various challenges.
The researcher Elsa Estrela attended this conference and presented the communication Two faces of the same coin: National and individual refraction on curriculum policies in Portugal, having generated an interesting scientific debate since the analysis presented was based on a context and reality very similar to what is currently experienced in other countries, notably Norway. On the other hand, various contacts were established in order to promote the development of joint research projects.
