Francisco Ramos Leitão


Biographical note

Associate Professor at the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies of Lisbon.

He completed his PhD in Special Education and Rehabilitation by the Human Motricity Faculty of the Technical University of Lisbon in 1992.

Researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) of ULHT.

He has held positions in such diverse services as the Faculty of Human Kinetics, the Mentally Disabled Service of the Mental Health Center for Children and Youth in Lisbon, the Mira-Sintra Children’s Education Center, Sintra and Queluz/Cacém Special Education Teams of DGEB, the Coordination Team for Educational Support of Cacém of DREL, the Division of Special Education of DGEBS or the Institute of Educational Innovation.

Participation in International Programs such as the Race Program, Helios II, Socrates / Comenius, between 1991 and 1999.

He published fifteen books, twenty-five articles in magazines of the specialty and more than one hundred communications in national and international congresses, colloquia, meetings.

In 2009 she was awarded by the National Association of Special Education Teachers with the Medal of Merit for the services provided in the scope of Special Education.
