Sónia Vladimira Correia


Biographical note

Sociologist from ISCTE-IUL. PhD in Social Sciences, specialization in General Sociology and Master, also in Social Sciences, specialty in Networks, Public Action and Social Issues, both degrees conferred by ICS-UL. Since 2000 she has made research on several projects, both national and international, in CIES-ISCTE and ICS-UL. Her main research focus are in education, social inclusion, gender and family policies in Portugal and Europe. She was the co-founder and researcher of the School Security Observatory of the Ministry of Education. She has published books on family, gender and education in particular in 2016 the white paper men and gender equality in Portugal and in 2018 the book Management and Financing of Schools: Indicators, Policies and Actors, edited by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. She is currently a lecturer at the Lusófona University and an integrated researcher at CeiED and at CPES, both research centres at Lusófona.
