Ana Vale Pereira

Ana Vale Pereira holds a Ph.D. in Educational Sciences from the University of Porto, obtained in 2003. Currently, she is an invited assistant professor in the Faculty of Psychology, Education, and Sport at Lusófona University - Porto University Centre. Since 2016, she has been an integrated researcher at the CeiED-Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Education and Development at Lusófona University. She participated as a researcher in the Erasmus+ Family-based Open Science Schooling Project (Ref: 2019-1-FI01-KA201-060724) from 2019 to 2021. Her career as a researcher began under the program contract funded by FCT Science 2008 at the CIIE - Centre for Research and Intervention in Education at the University of Porto, a partner of CLACSO - Latin American Council of Social Sciences. Her research interests primarily focus on educational sciences, particularly adult education and training, qualitative educational research, public education policies, and teaching and learning methodologies in higher education. These areas have been the primary subjects of her collaborative studies with various researchers and are aligned with her published works. She has co-authored numerous publications in both national and international journals, contributed chapters to books, and co-authored an e-book. Since 2016, she has served as a member of the Scientific Committee of the CIAIQ - Ibero-American Congress of Qualitative Research and, most recently, has contributed as an invited reviewer for the Qualitative Research Journal in São Paulo, Brazil. Additionally, she served as an expert in the External School Evaluation Teams of the Inspectorate General of Education (IGEC). In 2019 and 2020, she served as a co-coordinator and trainer for innovative teaching methodology courses for teachers at Lusófona University - Porto University Centre. She has also led training courses in qualitative data analysis using NVIVO software for postgraduate students at the FPCEUP - Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto.
