CECS interview to Ana Maria Silva and Elisabete Pinto da Costa

Last January 23, the Centre for Communication and Society Studies (CECS) held an interview with Ana Maria Silva and Elisabete Pinto da Costa for the presentation of the book Intercultural Mediation: training, action and reflection.

The book focuses on the fundamentally pedagogical nature. The purpose of this book is to constitute a pedagogical support manual for the initial and continuing training of intercultural mediators. In order to achieve this purpose, the theoretical, ethical, methodological and praxeological foundations of intercultural mediation are presented through the contributions of several experts and professionals in the field.

The book is organised into two parts. In the first part, intercultural mediation is contextualised and grounded through its scientific, social and political framework, which enables its understanding and contextualisation in complex, multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious societies. The second part focuses on the training and praxis of intercultural mediation.
