Colloquium On 50 years of the Veiga Simão Reform

On 10 and 11 July, the Colloquium On 50 years of the Veiga Simão Reform: educational policies between changes and continuities was held.
The Colloquium, organised by CeiED and HISTEDUP, was attended by more than 70 teachers and students, who followed with interest the conferences, round tables and communications in which the Colloquium was structured.
At the opening, António Costa Pinto and António Teodoro provided a framework for Veiga Simão’s work. At the closing, Licínio Lima presented a reflection on what remained after 50 years of Law 5/73.
The round tables discussed the themes of pre-school education, compulsory 8-year schooling, multipurpose secondary education, teacher training and higher education, with the participation of Maria João Cardona, Luís Grosso Correia, David Rodrigues, Maria do Céu Roldão, Maria João Mogarro, Raquel Pereira Henriques, Jorge Ramos do Ó, Maria Helena Nazaré and Joaquim Mourato; moderated by José Brás, Teresa Teixeira Lopo, Maria Neves Gonçalves and Maria de Lourdes Machado-Taylor.
