Citizen Science and Co-creation for regeneration of urban rivers and mitigation of risks

RUN | urban rivers recovery network aims to create a fruitful and dynamic exchange of knowledge and experiences to foster paradigmatic changes in the treatment of urban rivers. It will identify news ways to design city-building strategies taking nature-based solutions as a foundation and with local communities and their territories. The network includes 13 Ibero-American partners from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Paraguay and Peru. Due to Covid-19 the start of activities was postponed to January 2021
Objetives
The main objective of RUN is to consolidate a collaborative network for combining scientific knowledge – through nature-based solutions – with a perspective of citizen science – through participatory and co-creative processes – that supports by the production of spaces, whose improvement of environmental effectiveness and risk mitigation, be carried out alongside the offer of green areas, recreation and leisure.
