Interview with the Director of the Institute of Education of Lusófona University, Professor António Teodoro, on TSF
Last 26th January, an interview with Professor António Teodoro, PhD, on the lack and ageing of teachers was published on the TSF website, with audio support, on the issue of the “State of Education” report.
António Teodoro suggests that positive discrimination measures should be taken, aimed at combating the imbalance between the number of teachers who start their career and those who finish it. He suggests that such measures would boost the adhesion of young people from ethnic minorities to the teaching profession.
In his speech António Teodoro addresses other issues, such as the decrease in the number of students failing or dropping out of school, and social cohesion within the educational area.
