Biographical note

PhD in Museology. Director of the National Museum of Resistance and Liberty – Peniche Fortress. Visiting Professor at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, in the Museology Department. In 2011 she concluded her PhD thesis in Museology, at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, entitled “Sociomuseology and Gender. Images of Women in Portuguese Museum Exhibitions”, having been approved with Distinction and Honours. In 2003 she finished her Masters in Museology at ULHT. In 1993 she concluded a specialisation in Archaeology at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa. In 1985 she graduated in History from the Universidade de Lisboa-Faculdade de Letras. Former director of the following museums: National Museum of Contemporary Art – Museu do Chiado; Dr. Anastácio Gonçalves House-Museum; Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior Museum; Guarda Museum; and former head of the Culture and Heritage Division of Odivelas Municipal Council.
