Biographical note

Holds a degree in Biology / Geology Teaching from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and a PhD in Educational Sciences from the Faculty of Education of the University of Salamanca, with the thesis “The evolution of Natural Science school textbooks in secondary education in Portugal 1836 – 2005”. 

Professor at the School of Education/Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, in which co-coordinates the master’s degree in Primary School and Mathematics and Natural Sciences Elementary School Teaching.  

Textbooks’ author of natural sciences, biology and geology. His research interests are in the fields of science education, teacher education, textbooks and integration of science and mathematics. Team member of the project CreativeLab_Sci&Math®.
