Biographical note
Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development – CeiED at Lusófona University.
PhD in Education from the Pontifical University of São Paulo, and PhD equivalence in Education Sciences from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPCEUP).
Coordinator of ReLeCo Training, Professionalism and Teaching Identities – ProFId of CeiED of ULusófona.
She works as a teacher in the Master’s course in Educational Administration and Education Regulation and the Master’s in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education.
She is a collaborating member of the Centre for Research and Educational Intervention (CIIE) of FPCEUP, where she is part of the Communities of Research Practice (CoPIn) IdeaFor – Identities, Democracy, School, Administration and Training.
Co-IR of the Project Fifty years of teaching: factors of change and intergenerational dialogues – FYT-ID (PTDC/CED-EDG/1039/2021).
She is a member of the Citizenship Education in the Context of European Values: The Educational Aspect (CitEdEV) – Jean Monet Network (621298-EPP-1-2020-1-CZ-EPPJMO-NETWORK) project team.
She coordinated the Project “Cooperation for Quality Development: A Program for Continuous Training of Teachers in Kuito-Bié”, co-funded by Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P.

Leanete Thomas Dotta integrates networks and associations such as the Association for Teacher Education in Europe – ATEE, the Asociación Científica Internacional de Psicopedagogía, the Rede Historias de Vida en Educación and the Sociedade Portuguesa de Ciências da Educação (SPCE).
She taught Master’s and Doctorate courses in Educational Sciences where she supervised master’s dissertations and doctoral theses at FPCEUP.
She works as an expert for the Ministry of Education’s General Inspection of Education and Science in the external evaluation processes of Basic and Secundary schools.
Thomas Dotta’s professional teaching career began in basic and secondary education, learning levels to which she keeps connected through research on teacher training, teacher’s professional identities.
Within the scope of the relationship between teaching / training and teacher professionalism.
Regarding methodological issues, she has developed training actions on the use of the Nvivo qualitative data analysis software.
She has published books and chapters in books with national and international circulation; articles in indexed journals and complete articles published in proceedings of international congresses. She has participated in the organization of seminars (national and international) and is a reviewer for international and national journals.
