Biographical note

Maria Manuel Calvet Ricardo (Maria Manuel Branco Calvet de Magalhães Gomes Ricardo) has a Phd in Education, with Honours by Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias in 2015 with the thesis Os Grupos de estudo do pessoal docente do ensino Secundário, 1969-1974. Raízes do sindicalismo docente.

Has a Master’s degree in American Studies by FCSH, Universidade Nova, Lisbon, with a post graduate degree from the National Endowment for the Humanities by the University of California, Davis, and graduated in German Philology by Faculdade de Letras, Universidade de Lisboa.

Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, FCSEA, Instituto de Educação and Researcher of UID – CeiED.

Was a secondary school teacher and held positions as President of the Governing Board, President of the School Assembly, Department Coordinator, Teacher Trainer of Continuous and Specialist in Education and evaluator of European projects.

Was cofounding member of GEPDES, APPI and FNAPLV and a member of the board of FIPLV.

Has published coauthored books, book chapters, course books and journal articles.
