Paulo Gomes Nunes

Biographical note

Paulo Luís Gomes Nunes is a Special Needs teacher and was coordinator of the ICT Resource Center for Special Educational Needs in Santarém (CRTIC Santarém) between 2008 and 2018.

He was an Online Professor at  Universidade Aberta, Lisbon, (2007-2017) and a Guest Professor at Escola Superior de Educação de Torres Novas, Torres Novas, Portugal, between 2013 and 2016.

He holds a PhD in Education from Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (Lisbon, 2017), where he defended a thesis entitled “Online Socio-Educational Communities: Contributions for Analysis and Design”.

He was an integrated researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) at the same university (2011-2017) and has been an honorary member at the Joaquim Veríssimo Serrão Research Center in Santarém, Portugal, since 2014. He was also a collaborating member of the Education and Development Research Unit (UIED) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2010-2013).

He holds a Master in Education, in the modality of Multimedia Educational Communication (Universidade Aberta, Lisboa, 2009, with a dissertation entitled “Free Software in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education: A Proposal of Linux Distribution Adapted to Curriculum Organization”), specialized in Special Educational Needs (Instituto Politécnico de Santarém, 2005), having acquired a bachelor’s degree and specializing in Educational Administration (Instituto Superior de Educação e Trabalho, Porto, 2000) and Bachelor in Public Education (Teachers of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, School Superior of Education of Torres Novas, Torres Novas, Portugal, 1990).

Has certification in Digital Competences in the scope of the System of Training and Certification in ICT Competencies for teachers, by Certification by Validation of Professional Competencies, since 2011.

He is Certified Trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council of Continuing Training (CCPFC), in the areas of Organization of the Education, Educational Technology and Communication, Design and Organization of Educational Projects, School Performance Evaluation Practices, Sensitization to Special Educational Needs, Educational Technologies (Informatics / Application of Informatics), Educational Technologies (Audiovisual Media) and School Administration Practices. Carried out training actions at the Centro de Formação da Lezíria do Tejo in Santarém, Portugal, and awareness and training actions related to the use of technologies in students with Special Educational Needs in various School Groups.
