Abstract
The present research to analyze the impacts of public policies for higher education and the strengthening and development of museological processes considering Brazilian federal universities as a space for research and actions aimed at collective memory, cultural heritage and cultural diversity. The work uses the analysis of official state documents and quantitative analysis of data associated with the policy of expansion of higher education with regard to Federal Universities seeking to establish relationships with the field of museums and cultural heritage in universities in the period of 2004-2018. Under the aegis of development and social participation, we identified the rise in the strengthening of this field, which was interrupted by the discontinuity of state public policies.
