Abstract

Accepting and understanding different museum models, but based on the assumption that the museum is a place where diversity is contemplated, a place open to experimentation with new approaches, conceptions and methodologies committed to social issues, the exhibition constitutes a form of communication with the public (or the publics), enhancing relationships, experiences or differentiated emotional and intellectual experiences.

This study explores the viability of materializing alternative expographic experiences in museums of a normative nature, through a proposal for an exhibition for the Museum of Lisbon, which focuses on the occupation of leisure time, transversal to the various social strata, in a timeframe between 1920-1930. The production of the contents is intended to contemplate collaborative and/or participative processes, close to a line of critical and social museology.
