Study visits to a school in the Alvalade School Group and to CERCICA

On May 10, the 1st year class of the Master in Educational Sciences – Special Education, a student from the Degree in Social Education, and a postdoctoral student from Universidad CEU San Pablo, Madrid, accompanied by Professor Maria Odete Emygdio da Silva, an integrated researcher at CeiED and director of the mentioned Master’s, made two study visits: the first, to a school in the Alvalade School Group; the second to the Cooperative of Education, Rehabilitation and Training for Inclusion (CERCICA), located in Livramento – Cascais.

The purpose of the visits was to have more direct contact with practices developed by the two institutions, the first with students with disabilities and/or other problems, and the second with trainees who carry out their professional training at the institution. On this last visit, we also had the opportunity to learn about activities and work carried out by customers, a designation adopted for people who attend this type of institution.
