Webinar: Artificial Intelligence and Education: history, myths and concrete possibilities

CeiED’s Research and Learning Communities (ReLeCo): Núcleo de Estudos de Língua Portuguesa – NELP, Educação Desportiva, Corpo e Ética – EDCE e Cultura(s), Educação e Memória – CEM invite researchers, teachers and students to participate in the webinar Artificial Intelligence and Education: history, myths and concrete possibilities.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most discussed topics today in all fields of knowledge, due to the impact of its use in multiple professional activities and in our daily life. The various AI-related technologies integrate a broader picture – the picture of the transition to digital – considered by many scholars a landmark as relevant as the invention of writing and the creation of the book.

Due to the dimension of the theme and the specificity of the media that initially disclosed it,  AI is still widely seen from a fictionalized narrative, surrounded by myths that can lead to two antagonistic attitudes, both with their respective losses: rejection without knowledge or uncritical adhesion. The antidote for both seems to us to be an intellectual curiosity, knowledge of the topic and debate. Therefore, we invite everyone to join us in this webinar.
