Tech to Teach
Abstract of the Project
The TECH TO TEACH partnership has been conceived against the background of the current crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lack of knowledge and implementation of Technology properly is a backbone of the future of education as well as all sectors. The European Commission Policy Article on ICT Research & Innovation, within the Horizon 2020 framework, put an emphasis that Information and Communication Technologies underpin innovation and competitiveness across private and public sectors and enable scientifically progress in all disciplines. Digital Education Action Plan of the European Commission, released in 2018, we can refer to that ” Education and training are the best investments in Europe’s future. They play a vital role in boosting growth, innovation, and job creation. Europe’s education and training systems need to give people the forward-looking knowledge, skills, and competencies they need to innovate and prosper. The General objective of the TECH TO TEACH project is raised from the digital capacity of the world and the tendency of the European Youth in technology and their engagement. Digital technology has a huge, largely untapped potential for improving education. And more than 80 % of young people in Europe use the internet for social activities. The percentage should be regarded as an alternative to education and innovative approaches. So ”Tech To Teach” aims to uncover innovative practices in the digital era by collaborating with a range of education and training stakeholders; to strengthen the profiles of the teaching profiles who lack keeping up with technology developing without ceasing and lead to achievement and interest in disciplines by putting active learning into practice with learner-centered teaching/learning methods; that is to say, active learners who control their own learning pace inside and outside the school alternatively. The period also showed us how difficult remote education is both for teachers and students. Students started to have health issues physically and mentally while teachers are having trouble with the right technological application for their lessons. With this project, we foresee the future of Education and we want to create a guide for teachers on how to use technological applications both remotely and in place and how to set students active with technology-based active learning.
Project Goals
The project aims to develop teachers’ and educators’ competencies in technology usage while setting the students the real actors. Tech To Teach aims to develop a more digital and technology-based education environment where active learning happens. Active learning is problem-solving. Doing. Exploring. It is superior to passive learning because it forces your brain to connect information and work to understand. And Technology-based active learning is about the larger design of the lesson. By bringing active learning to courses through technology, instructors can promote “learning by doing” at scale and engage today’s technology-native generation in a format that harmonizes with their mentalities and expectations. Also, Technology-based active learning(TBAL)is an instructional strategy where students take an active role in their own learning, participating in activities and, reflecting on their learning. Students are fully engaged in the learning process rather than being passive participants. TBAL intends to significantly improve the learning process in both face-to-face and remote learning/teaching.
Project Results
The target group of the project; teachers and educators, who are interested in the future of education and are open-minded, communicative, and collaborative, and are ready to provide meaningful learning experiences for 21st-century students. Participants will be teachers from different branches from schools, directorates of educations and academics, and lecturers from the partner universities to create a multidisciplinary approach in technology use. A multicultural working environment and collaboration will bring Cultural awareness and European dimension to us. It is really important for education all across European countries. Our project will also give different opportunities to our educational systems. With this project, we will support, promote and encourage the use of the most innovative technological teaching tools, we will be able to increase the attractiveness of the institutions and decrease the school drop-out rates.
