Daniela Mascarenhas

Daniela is an associate professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (P.PORTO) since 2003. Coordinator of the Training and Pedagogical Development Office of the Pedagogical Innovation Center of P.PORTO. Member of the Scientific Council and the Pedagogical Council at the School of Education of the P.PORTO.

She is involved in the training of early childhood educators and teachers of the 1st and 2nd cycle of basic education. She has published several articles and is a collaborating researcher in several research projects allocated to the research centers CeiED and inED. She is an integrated researcher in inED center.

Post-Doctorate in Education Sciences, in the specialty of Pedagogical Supervision, from the University of Minho (2019). PhD in Education and Mathematics Didactics from the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Granada (2011) and validated by the University of Porto. She obtained the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) in Education and Didactics of Mathematics from the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Granada (2010). She graduated in Mathematics (via teaching) from the University of Minho (2003).

She has been involved in various national and international research projects, notably participating in the following: Erasmus+ KA131 project - Applied Learning of Robotics And Fused Reality In Early Childhood Education (Reference: 2021-1-ES01-KA131-HED-000019662) (Ongoing); Projeto Erasmus+ MATH-DIGGER - MATHematics DiGital Escape Rooms (Reference: 2021-1-PT01-KA220-HED-000032234) (Ongoing); EI.STEAM: exploring and innovating for a STEAM education (inED/2021/3) (Ongoing); Schoolers and Scholars - Role-Playing Games (RPG) in the teaching and learning process for the 1st and 2nd cycles of basic education (inED/2020/8); International project Quality Education for All Project for São Tomé and Príncipe (P150828) by the World Bank (2018/2019).

She is a certified trainer by the Scientific-Pedagogical Council of Continuing Education (Registration CCPFC/RFO-31137/12) in the fields of B11- Pedagogy and Didactics and C05-Specific Didactics (Mathematics).
