Abstract
Changes in school grammar have been attempted since education systems became widespread. Despite this, there is evidence that few had a significant impact and a set of inhibiting factors of these changes have been identified.
This qualitative study, starting from an inductive logic, intends to understand what organizational and pedagogical changes can be identified in the schools that participated in the Pedagogical Innovation Pilot Project. This project, innovative in the Portuguese education system, took place between September 2016 and August 2019, in six public schools, which, with 100% pedagogical autonomy, implemented organizational and pedagogical changes to improve not only the success of their students, but also the quality of this success promoting pedagogical and curricular changes in the Portuguese education system.
Through exploratory interviews and focus groups, with privileged informants from two reference groups, the main changes introduced in these organizations will be identified, which school grammar factors were changed, which of these changes prevailed after the project ended, and which were abandoned. It will be applied a questionnaire aimed at a wide range of teachers from PPIP schools to confirm the information collected in the two reference groups.
