Holds a degree in Dentistry from the Federal University of Alagoas (1977), a master's degree (1984) and a doctorate (1990) in Dental Sciences from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho, a specialist in Pedagogical Health Management from the Federal University of Alagoas (2008) and Education for Health Professions by the Federal University of Ceará (2010).

She was Vice-Rector of the State University of Health Sciences of Alagoas from 2009 to 2013. She is Institutional and Course Evaluator at the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research – MEC. Adjunct Professor at the State University of Health Sciences of Alagoas working at Graduation, Specialization and Master's levels.

Researcher in Health Education, holder of several patents in the field of Education for Health. Researcher in the field of Public Health, with emphasis on Education for Health, working mainly on the following topics: health education, structuring of educational resources and teaching in health.
