Hélia Bracons

Hélia is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Social Service at Lusófona University - Lisboa. She obtained her PhD in Social Work in 2017 and holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Social Work. She serves as the Director of the Degree program and is the joint coordinator of Internships in Social Work at Universidade Lusófona.

Hélia serves as the Editor of the Revista Temas Sociais of the Institute of Social Service at Lusófona University - Lisboa. She also holds the position of Director of the Postgraduate Course in Social Intervention with Migrants and Refugees (b-learning) since 2021. She coordinates the Tutorial, Mentoring, and Guidance action program at the Lusófona University integrated into the Portuguese Mentoring Network | Peer Tutoring in Higher Education.

Since May 2015, she has represented Lusófona University - Lisboa in the Higher Education Network in Intercultural Mediation (RESMI). She is also a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Journal of New Education (IJNE) at the University of Málaga and a Member of the Editorial Board of EHQUIDAD. International Journal of Bienestar y Trabajo Social Policies. She serves on the Scientific Council of the Social Service in Perspective Magazine at the State University of Montes Claros - Unimontes and on the Scientific Editorial Board of Katálysis Magazine at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil. She is also on the Scientific Editorial Board of the Social Service & Health Magazine at the State University of Campinas and on the International Editorial Committee of MODULEMA Magazine, a scientific magazine on Cultural Diversity at the University of Granada. Additionally, she serves on the DEDiCA Advisory Board for the Journal of Education and Humanities at the University of Granada. In 2023, she received the Medal of Recognition and Merit from the Lusófona University for her academic and research performance.
