Lucimere Bohn

Lucimere Bohn obtained her PhD in Physical Activity and Health from the Faculty of Sport at the University of Porto in 2017. She also holds an MSc in Physical Activity for the Elderly (2nd Cycle) and a BSc (1st Cycle) in Sports Sciences from the same institution. Currently, she holds positions as an Assistant Professor at Lusófona University - Porto. Additionally, she serves as the coordinator of the Master (2nd Cycle) in Exercise and Health at Lusófona University - Porto.

Lucimere Bohn is an integrated researcher at the Research Centre in Physical Activity, Health and Leisure / Laboratory for Integrative and Translational Research in Health Population (CIAFEL-ITR), and she collaborates with the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeIED) and the Research Center for Sport, Physical Education, Exercise and Health (CIDEFES). She has authored or co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 4 book chapters, and 1 book, and has presented more than 40 national and international communications.

Currently, she supervises 3 PhD students and has supervised 23 master's theses. LB has completed 5 research stays in foreign centers and has secured funding in prior national and international competitive funds (FCT and ERASMUS+, for example). She actively participates in international networks through COST actions associated with the aging population. Lucimere actively engages as a reviewer and topic editor for several international peer-reviewed journals. In terms of community projects, Lucimere has designed and implemented scientific-social projects within the metropolitan area of Porto, with the goal of promoting physical exercise among older adults. Presently, these projects benefit over 100 individuals.

With a focus on health science, Lucimere has been involved in numerous projects related to physical activity, exercise, aging, and chronic diseases. Through these projects, she has developed expertise in assessing physical activity, physical fitness, functional capacity, as well as data analysis. Her primary research interests revolve around studying the role of physical activity and sedentary behavior in chronic diseases and aging.
