Luis Miguel Almeida

Luís Miguel Almeida is a Geographer, Geography and History teacher in the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education and researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) of the Lusófona University – Lisbon University Center.

He graduated in Geography and Regional Planning (FCSH-NOVA), did a post-graduation in Territory Management, Territory and Development (FCSH-NOVA) and completed a Master in History and Geography Teaching (FCSH-NOVA). In 2021, she completed her PhD in Education at ULusófona University – Lisbon University Center, where she defended a thesis entitled "Teacher Evaluation Literacy: Development and Application of the Evaluation Literacy Assessment Questionnaire (QALA)".

Her professional career has been closely linked to teaching and Geographic Information Systems. In the field of Geographic Information Systems he has worked as a research assistant at NOVA IMS and has already worked in several companies of the public and private sector, where stand out the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Lisbon, Municípia, Primesoft and the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology. In the area of teaching, he is currently a teacher at Colégio Atlântico, where he teaches the subjects of History and Geography of Portugal (2nd Cycle) and History (3rd Cycle) and Geography (3rd Cycle).  He also has experience in higher education, where he has taught as a monitor in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning.
