Célio da Cunha

Célio is Bachelor in Pedagogy from Mackenzie Presbyterian University (1968), Master of Education from the University of Brasília (1980), and Doctor of Education from the State University of Campinas (1987). He conducted post-doctoral research at Lusophone University - Lisbon. Currently, he is a Professor in the Master's and Doctoral Program at the Catholic University of Brasília - concentration area: public education policies and history of pedagogical ideas. He is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of Brasília (retired), a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Linhas Críticas (UnB), Ensaio (Cesgranrio Foundation), Política e Administração da Educação (Anpae), and Integração e Conhecimento of NEIES-Mercosur. He served as editorial coordinator and special advisor to UNESCO in Brazil in the field of education for several years. He has published books and articles and has experience in public education policies. He was a science and technology analyst and Superintendent of the Human and Social Sciences area of CNPq and Director and Deputy Secretary of Educational Policy at the Ministry of Education. At the beginning of his career, he directed the Department of Teaching and Research at UFMT.
