Emilio Lucio-Villegas

Emilio Lucio-Villegas holds a PhD in Philosophy and Education Sciences from the University of Seville. Since 1988, he has been a professor at the same university, teaching courses related to adult education.

He served as the director of the Paulo Freire Chair at the University of Seville from 2009 to 2013. Among the various awards he has received, the Phyllis M. Cunningham Award for Social Justice stands out, granted by the Adult Education Research Conference in Sacramento (CA, United States) in 2010.

He has participated in various research projects both nationally and internationally. He was a member of the Management Committee of the "European Society for Research in Adult Education" between 2008 and 2019. From 2001 to 2008, he directed the Master's in Adult Education and Community Development, a program offered by the University of Seville. 

He is the author of articles in journals, book chapters, and books published in Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, and English. His publications are primarily related to the field of adult education, with his book "Adult Education in Communities" published by Sense Publishers in 2015 standing out.
