Vanessa Russo holds a Ph.D in Psychology from ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon  (2023) and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon (2011). Her doctoral research focused on the importance of the quality of informal early childhood education environments (Playgroups) and their impacts on children and families. She collaborated on the pilot project "Playgroups for Inclusion", as well as on other research projects and social and community action projects.

She conducts psychological counseling sessions for children, adolescents, and young people (individual and group), with a focus on children and young people at risk. She also provides parental counseling and vocational guidance".

More recently, she developed an interest in the field of Science Communication. She currently works at CeiED - Lusófona University as a science communication manager.
