17th Week of Sociomuseology 2026
The Sociomuseology Week, held with the support of CeiED, marks the official opening of the academic year for the Master’s and PhD programmes in Sociomuseology and constitutes one of the most important moments for the Department of Museology, bringing together students, lecturers, researchers and international guests in an environment of sharing, debate and celebration of Sociomuseology.
The 17th Sociomuseology Week will take place from 20 to 28 February 2026 at Lusófona University - Lisbon University Centre.
Over several days, the programme will include scientific sessions, final doctoral defence panels, research seminars in sociomuseology, open Master’s and PhD classes, study visits, workshops, round-table discussions and science communication events, providing an extended space for exchange among researchers, lecturers, students and professionals in the field. The themes addressed reflect the diversity and contemporary relevance of the field, with a focus on accessibility, decoloniality, heritage, communication, education, critical museological practices and ongoing research projects.
