On May 29, 2025, at 4:00 PM, the 9th session of the seminar series “Racism in Portugal” will take place in Room A304,
Tower A, at NOVA FCSH.
This session will focus on the book “Quando Ninguém Podia Ficar. Racismo, Habitação e Território” (When No One Could Stay. Racism, Housing, and Territory), by researcher Ana Rita Alves (CeiED – Universidade Lusófona | CES – University of Coimbra). The discussion will be moderated by Jannis Kühne (CRIA – NOVA FCSH).
The event is part of a seminar cycle promoted by CRIA – Centre for Research in Anthropology, aimed at fostering critical reflection on structural racism in Portuguese society. It provides a space for discussing public policy, intersectionality, and the historical persistence of colonial oppression.
