Within the scope of the above-mentioned competition, it is hereby informed that, according to the notice in reference, ten (10) applications were received. Therefore, we hereby announce the result of the competition.

The Evaluation Panel decided to exclude the following candidate for non-compliance with the eligibility criteria of the candidates’ profile considered admissible, as established in point 2 of Section II of the competition notice, with the following result of the analysis:

1) The candidate has held a Doctorate degree for less than 5 years, failing to meet the requirement established in subparagraph b) of point 2.
After analysing the documentation submitted with the application, the Evaluation Panel decided to exclude the following candidate for non-compliance with the admissibility criteria, in subparagraph b) of point 2 of Section II of the competition notice, with the following result of the analysis:

Accordingly, considering the results, the Evaluation Panel decided to interview the selected candidate Patrícia Ferraz de Matos, intended exclusively to clarify aspects related to the results of her research. All candidates must be notified via email so that, in case of appeal, they may respond in writing within a maximum of 10 working days from the date of receipt of the respective communication, in accordance with Articles 121 et seq. of the Administrative Procedure Code. It was further decided that, if none of the aforementioned candidates raises any objection within the legal deadline, the decision will become final.

I - Object and Scope
Job description
COFAC, Cooperativa de Formação e Animação Cultural CRL / Universidade Lusófona, hereby opens a call to recruit a Ph.D. researcher
, corresponding to position 195 of the Research Career Statute, under the terms of the applicable legislation, with an open-ended employment contract, within the scope of the contract program between Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. (FCT), and the above-mentioned Cooperative, supported by national funds inscribed in the budget of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) – and carried out at the Research Unit Centro de Estudos Interdisciplinares em Educação e Desenvolvimento – CeiED.
1. Main Duties
The work to be carried out will be in Education, Territory, or Memory.
2. Contractual terms
- The position of Ph.D. researcher is made effective through an open-ended employment contract, whose FCT funding is for a maximum period of six years, under the terms of Decree-Law no. 57/2016, of 9 August, amended by Law no. 57/2017, of 19 July, and the Portuguese Labour Code.
- The tasks to be carried out in fulfillment of this position are those considered within the scope of the Research Unit – Centro de Estudos Interdisciplinares em Educação e Desenvolvimento – CeiED (UID-4114).
- The contract to be made is scheduled to begin on February 2nd, 2026, and finish, predictably, on May 15th, 2028, or with the completion of the research project, preserving the term regime established by the Labour Code.
- The tasks comprehended in the object of the employment contract take place at Campo Grande 376, in Lisbon, or in such places deemed necessary to implement the research plan.
- The gross base monthly salary to be paid is €3,501.28, according to paragraph a) of no. 1 of article 15 of Decree-Law no. 57/2016, of 9 August, amended by Law no. 57/2017, and to the first remuneration position of the initial level as laid down in article 2 of Regulatory Decree no. 11-A/2017, of 29 December, corresponding to position 195 of the Research Career Statute, approved by Decree-Law no. 124/99, of 20 April.
II – Eligibility and Applications
Position to be filled and terms of the open call
- The call aims to hire a Ph.D. researcher, with an open-ended employment contract.
- National, foreign, or stateless Ph.D. researchers may apply for the position.
Cumulative academic profile requirements
- Adequate background in one of the fields of CeiED – Education, Territory, or Museology;
- Ph.D. degree obtained more than five years ago, in one of the aforementioned scientific fields;
- Evidence of strong capacity to work in interdisciplinary environments, with organization and teamwork skills;
- Leadership capacity demonstrated through scientific and financial management of funded projects;
- Up to five publications in leading international peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journals and/or in leading international peer-reviewed journals, proceedings, and/or monographs;
- Experience in participating in national and international scientific networks;
- Experience in coordinating national and international research projects using competitive funding;
- Invitations to national and international conferences and/or universities;
- Experience in community dissemination activities (scientific and non-scientific);
- Experience in supervising doctoral and post-doctoral students;
- Fluency in Portuguese, written and spoken;
- Fluency in English. Proficiency in other non-Portuguese languages will be valued.
Recognition of foreign academic degrees
In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, under the terms of Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of 16 August, it is mandatory to obtain recognition of said degrees and conversion of their respective final score to the Portuguese rating scale.

5. Deadline
The call will be open from 7 November 2025 until 5 pm (Lisbon time) on 12 December 2025.
6. How to apply

7. Jury Composition
The jury has five members nominated by the COFAC Board:

8. Competences
The jury will evaluate the applications and draft minutes of all meetings.
9. Selection method
Applications will be assessed based on scientific and professional merit, relevance, and adequacy to the proposed work plan.
10. Prior Hearing
Applicants have ten working days to exercise their right to a prior hearing.
11. Homologation
The final decision will be certified by the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of COFAC.
12. Dissemination of results
Results will be published on the Universidade Lusófona website and communicated by email.
