CeiED and CEIS20: strengthening collaboration and dialogue between two research units

, took part in the 3rd Colloquium on Interdisciplinarity, organised by CEIS20 – Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of the University of Coimbra, held at Casa das Ardenas.The researcher participated in the roundtable "Research in Action: Experiences and Interdisciplinary Perspectives," moderated by Mónica Lourenço, where she presented the European project Circul'Arts – Connecting Critical Pedagogies, Inclusive Art Forms and Alternative Barometers for Urban Sustainability, developed within the framework of the COST Action programme (CA23117).
The session brought together the TEDS – Teacher Education for Sustainability and Circul'Arts projects, fostering discussion on the role of interdisciplinary research in addressing complex societal challenges. The debate explored topics such as the formation of interdisciplinary research teams, collaborative methodologies, the relationship between research and social transformation, and the contribution of non-academic partners to knowledge production.
During her presentation of the Circul'Arts project, Filipa Lourenço highlighted the potential of critical pedagogies, inclusive artistic practices, and participatory processes to promote innovative approaches to urban sustainability and to strengthen the links between research, education, and the wider community.
The event also provided an opportunity to reinforce collaboration between CeiED and CEIS20, fostering dialogue between two research units that share a commitment to interdisciplinarity and to producing knowledge that addresses contemporary societal challenges.
