The Department of Museology of Universidade Lusófona, in conjunction with its UNESCO Chair "Education, Citizenship and Cultural Diversity" and the support of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), informs that the 2nd stage of the selection program for 2 (two) Scholarships, for the PhD Course in Sociomuseology, for students from CPLP countries, with pre-applications until 01/09/2024, is open.

In accordance with the "Calendar for submitting applications for Doctoral Scholarships 2024-27", annex V of the General Regulations, if there are any remaining scholarships to be awarded and after information on the first selection process, a second selection process will be organized to fill the remaining scholarships.

Research areas:

The research to be carried out in the field of Cultural Heritage and Museology must take into account the Chair's objectives, which follow UNESCO's guiding instruments, in particular for Education, Culture, Heritage, Museology, Development and Cultural Diversity.

The process consists of two phases:

Pre-application - Curricular and scientific evaluation of the project

Submission of the grant application to the Museology Department on September 1, 2024, accompanied by a copy of the following documents in PDF format:

• Scholarship application form (specific form, available at https://drive.google.com/file/d/19GP8cKvooHoVIVvWHl7FV___GaTvlFfm/view);
• Identification document valid in Portugal;
• Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CiênciaVlTAE, LATTES or similar model);
• Master's degree diploma;
• Research project to be developed (according to the terms of the model in the notice);
• Letter of motivation for undertaking the doctorate, signed and dated;
• Letter of recommendation (optional).

Online application and enrolment in the PhD Program (administrative formalization)

If you are selected at the stage described above, in item C.1, relating to the pre-application, you must formalize the application online within 05 working days, pay the application fee, then enrol/register for the Doctoral Course and school insurance, as well as send the following documents:

• Scanned copy of the original Master's Certificate/Diploma to the secretariat for verification (IMPORTANT: for documents issued in foreign countries, please provide a version in Portuguese, English, French or Spanish, as well as an internationally recognized version with Chancela or Apostille);
