As part of the FCT research project CARIM, Contemporary Art: A pathway towards Inclusive Museology. [FCT 2022.04615.PTDC, P.I. Marta Jecu, CeiED researcher], an educational action was organized with a group of 8-year-old children at the Geological Museum of Lisbon, on November 8, 2023.

The action represents a collaboration between the Passos Manuel schools grouping, the Department of Museology and the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development CeiED – ULHT. The action was designed by researchers Ceied Roberta Gonçalves, Margarida Belchior and Marta Jecu.

The educational action took place around the projection of the artistic work (namely a digital animation) by the Brazilian indigenous artist Gustavo Caboco: Kanau'Kyba (2021) to a group of children. The film describes the vision of the mineral and natural world from the perspective of indigenous knowledge, traditions and cosmogonies. The object of the educational action is to transmit this knowledge to children and in this sense extend the vision that the museum itself offers to visitors, with an extra-European perspective, expanding the references around the mineral world and the production of knowledge that the museological tradition provides.

The methodology of working with children included, in addition to the projection of the animation by artist Gustavo Caboco, a collective  commented immersion in the indigenous cosmological vision (with a an immersive recording of the artist's voice and other sounds), led by psychoanalyst   Roberta Gonçalves (Univ. Lusofona, Department of Museology), followed by the application of an active experimental learning methodology based on sociodrama (led by professor Margarida Belchior (Univ. Lusofona, Ceied), where notions such as 'museum', 'stone', 'earth', 'universe' were enacted.
