On February 23rd, the 5th Portuguese Meeting on the History of Education took place in the Auditorium of the Coimbra School of Education.

The aims of the meeting were to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution, to take stock of scientific production in the History of Education in Portugal and to hold the General Assembly of the Portuguese History of Education Association (HISTEDUP).

CeiED was present in the person of António Teodoro, who addressed topics such as the 1st Provisional Government's attempt to continue with the Veiga Simão Reform, the transition from the 2nd to the 4th and 5th Provisional Governments with a focus on socialism, and the 6th Provisional Government as a transitional phase towards normalization, in his presentation entitled "Education in the Provisional Government Programmes: from the intention to continue with the Veiga Simão Reform to a project for a society on the road to socialism".
