16 december 2024

António Teodoro, Director of CeiED, participated as a keynote speaker in the closing session of the IX CLAEHM / X EHM, held on December 5. Under the theme “A Utopia da Educação como Projeto de Justiça Social”, the event was conducted online, and his presentation (in portuguese) can be watched here.

The IX CLAEHM / X EHM took place on December 3, 4, and 5, organized by the Latin American Center for Cultural Studies (CLAEC) and the Sociocultural Connection Institute (CONEX). The central theme of the event was “Multidisciplinary Convergences in the Humanities: New Paradigms for a World in Transformation”. The event aimed to foster essential debates in the face of rapid changes in society, the economy, education, and the environment, emphasizing the need to rethink and expand the established paradigms in the humanities and social sciences.

The EHM/CLAEHM seeks to gather and promote interaction among diverse scientific and academic contributions within the humanities, particularly in the multidisciplinary field. Its goal is to broaden the analysis of individual elements and explore their specificities, as each discipline involved brings a unique and valuable perspective to understanding the subject of study.

The purpose of the event is to expand the understanding of the complexities of the contemporary world through the integration of distinct academic disciplines, aiming to promote perspectives that decolonize and value sociocultural narratives in their various dimensions. It seeks to establish academic dialogue and transform scientific practice into a tool for fostering social inclusion.
