BIP Conference “Learning and Becoming a Researcher in Intercultural Contexts”

14 to 18 July 2025

From 14 to 18 July 2025, the Lusófona University – Lisbon University Centre hosted the International BIP Week “Learning and Becoming a Researcher in Intercultural Contexts”, organised under the European Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) framework.

The event brought together students, doctoral candidates, and lecturers from partner universities — Tallinn University (Estonia) and University of Seville (Spain) — fostering an environment of intercultural exchange, collaboration, and shared learning.

Grounded in the culturalist perspective of learning (Bruner) and the theory of integrative learning (Illeris), the programme explored how sociocultural contexts shape the ways in which individuals learn, think, and engage in research.

Throughout the week, participants took part in face-to-face and online sessions, practical workshops, guided readings, and critical discussions, culminating in an international conference featuring research presentations and collaborative exchanges.

The programme provided a unique opportunity for participants to develop scientific, human, and pedagogical competences, strengthen European cooperation, and reflect on the role of diversity in research training and practice.
