Book Launch by Master's Student

25 november 2024

On November 9, Soho Club Lisboa Bookstore hosted the launch of "De coração aberto" (Open-Hearted), a poetic work by Carlos Xavier, a Master's student in Educational Sciences, specializing in Adult Education and Community Intervention at Universidade Lusófona. The author, who writes under the pseudonym Miguel Martini, enthusiastically celebrated the publication of his work.

The author explains that in the book: “you will find various types of poems with different structures, revolving around five dominant themes: love, longing, pain, (dis)illusions, and self-discovery. I would also highlight several poems that address my struggle with mental health, my identity, and my fears.” He also shared that poetry became a way to embody his pain while expressing its intensity.

The Institute of Education and CeiED congratulate Carlos Xavier, wishing him great success with this first poetic work.

The book is available online and in major bookstores (FNAC, Bertrand, Porto Editora, etc.).
