Book presentation – Ana Maria Bérnard da Costa

The Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Education and Development – CeiED, at the Lusófona University, is pleased to announce the launch of Ana Maria Bérnard da Costa’s book “Memories of special education. From the medical model to inclusive education”, which will take place on Tuesday, March 8, at 15h00, at the National Education Council (CNE), in Lisbon.

Synopsis:

The memoirs of Dr. Ana Maria Bénard da Costa, without losing that personal, affective-emotional and committed tone, to which she has always accustomed us, are, at the same time, a historical testimony of paramount importance, a fundamental text on education, a literary piece and, above all, an extraordinary challenge. A challenge for reflection addressed to all those who have worked, work or will work in the inclusion of people with special educational needs. A challenge to parents, a challenge to all those who see in these children and young people the centre of their main concerns. A reminder to universities and training institutions.
