C3Places Project team publishes article in Cities magazine

2020

The article "Exploring teenagers' spatial practices and needs in light of new communication technologies", by Carlos Smaniotto Costa, Joana Solipa Batista, Inês Almeida and Marluci Menezes, explores teenagers' spatial practices, uses and needs. Based on workshops with teenagers, it discusses how co-creation can improve and create public spaces that are more sensitive to teenagers.

The discussion is based on two European projects, C3Places and CyberParks, and reflects the results of a case study in Lisbon. The importance of a public open space better adapted to the local context is discussed, an issue considered crucial for a more sustainable urban development.
