CeiED highlights European initiative to attract international research talent

6 june 2025

CeiED draws attention to the Choose Europe for Science initiative, launched by the European Commission to position the European Union as the world’s most attractive destination for researchers.

This effort brings together over 60 support and funding programmes available across the 27 Member States, now accessible via the EURAXESS platform.

With a planned investment of EUR 500 million between 2025 and 2027, the initiative offers competitive grants, mobility support, long-term contracts, and dedicated measures for researchers at risk. It also introduces new opportunities such as the ERC Super Grants and the MSCA Choose Europe for Science pilot programme.

The initiative is part of the new European Research Area (ERA) Policy Agenda 2025–2027, which aims to create a truly unified market for science and innovation across Europe.

CeiED reaffirms its commitment to supporting the active involvement of researchers in European R&D networks, promoting applications for competitive funding, and facilitating transnational mobility and scientific cooperation.
