CeiED researcher visits UNICAMP – Brazil

Luzia Lima-Rodrigues, a researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) and Director of the Master’s Degree in Special Education at Universidade Lusófona, visited the Executive Directorate for Student Support and Retention at UNICAMP – the State University of Campinas, Brazil, on 18 December. The visit was hosted by Adriane Pelissoni, Coordinator for Careers, Alumni and Student Life.

The Executive Directorate encompasses services ranging from the Student Housing Program and the Social Services Coordination to the Mental Health Promotion Coordination, as well as the Coordination for Careers, Alumni and Student Life. This latter coordination is responsible for internships, alumni and careers, professional mentoring, employability, the careers office, and support for academic retention, which includes pedagogical accessibility. Pedagogical accessibility focuses on the inclusion of students with disabilities in higher education.

This comprehensive student support system plays a fundamental role at UNICAMP, the university where Professor Luzia Lima-Rodrigues earned her PhD in Education.
