2 may 2024

On April 18, at 5:30 p.m., the second session of the II Cycle of Debates for Guidance Counselors, promoted by the Citizen Science Doctoral College - CeiED, took place. The topic chosen for the session was Ethics in Doctoral Research and Guidance, presented and discussed by the guest, Professor Helena Moniz, from the University of Lisbon.

Professor Helena introduced the topic based on her work and research into technologies and human language, with an emphasis on the use of Artificial Intelligence tools. Her talk highlighted the history of AI, its use in education and research, the various possibilities for making good use of this technology and the ethical issues it raises. He also highlighted the various guidelines and regulations that already exist for the ethical use of AI and the importance of knowing how the respective tools work, so that fear of the unknown does not prevent or delay all the potential uses of Artificial Intelligence, especially in research and guidance.
