Dr. Ana Benavente, co-coordinator of the Observatory of Education, Training and Science Policies and an integrated researcher at CeiED, has published an article on the effects on education of the Troika's intervention in Portugal, entitled "The next day: what the Troika did to schools".
From her career as a teacher, researcher, MP and Secretary of State for Education, she says that the consequences of this period of intervention "will leave their mark for a long time to come, but some changes are on the right track... and others are still to be made and are urgent. From the revaluation of the teaching profession to the reformulation of the democratic management of schools, this is a challenge that matters to society as a whole."
