José Brás, PhD Researcher at CeiED published the article entitled ” For an epistemic decolonisation of education from the ubuntu philosophy” in the journal Pedagogy, Culture & Society.

Pedagogy, Culture & Society is a leading international journal that seeks to provide an international forum for pedagogical discussion and debate.

“Drawing on ubuntu philosophy and notions of otherness, this paper and refers to, but is not limited to, the South African experience. In a relatively humanizing turn, Ubuntu draws our attention to broader forms of interdependence with all that surrounds us: the dead, the living and the unborn, the physical and social environment, that which is nearest and furthest from us, the visible and the invisible. In this world of neo-liberal globalisation, Ubuntu emerges as an ecopolitical alternative. It is a form of knowledge that makes us more human.”
