On March 9, at 10.30 a.m., Professor António Teodoro, Director of the Institute of Education, was interviewed by journalist Ana Guedes Rodrigues on CNN Hoje.

Professor Teodoro had the opportunity to analyze the educational situation, calling for important steps to be taken by the government to respond to the very just demands of teachers and educators (especially the fight against precariousness and the counting of length of service for career development). For Professor Teodoro, this is fundamental for a progressive normalization of the school year and a redirection towards some of the biggest challenges facing education in the country: the huge shortage of qualified teachers in this decade, the initial teacher training model, the attractiveness of the teaching profession. But also a review of the school management model and a set of other dimensions that increase the autonomy of schools and teachers, giving meaning to the work carried out and transforming the school into a space for building social justice on a daily basis.
