On May 8, the last session of the Workshop “Teachers’ Trade Unionism: from its origins to the diversity of organizations and projects”, led by Professor Antonio Teodoro and promoted by ReLeCo Formação, Profissionalismo e Identidades Docentes (ProFId), took place.

There were two editions of this Workshop with more than 40 participants, including male and female teachers of Basic and Secondary Education, teachers of Higher Education, male and female researchers, master and doctoral students and union representatives from Portugal, Angola and Brazil.

The work carried out allowed the participants, in a first moment, to get to know studies, research and the main scientific publications on the subject of teacher unionism in Portugal. The second moment was focused on the origins, dynamics, organisations and projects of teacher trade union movements in Portugal, which were forged after the April Revolution of 1974, and their role in the construction of the Portuguese Public School.
