Last October 19, at around 4 p.m., the opening of the academic year of the Institute of Education was celebrated in a hybrid format.
The event was attended by the Vice-Rector of the Lusófona University, Professor Gonçalo Calado, the Director of the IE, Professor António Teodoro, many teachers and students from the Institute’s undergraduate, masters and doctoral courses.
The opening conference, with the theme New Social Constructions of Learning and Education, was given by Professor José Pacheco, who shared with the participants present physically and online his experiences of “achievable utopias” in the teaching and learning process in different countries, as well as his enthusiasm and defence of the education cause.
After the conference and the debate, the welcome sessions for doctoral students in Education and Master’s students in Science of Education, Special Education, Administration and Regulation of Education, Teaching of Visual Arts followed. With great joy, the students of the two new master’s degrees that start their activities this academic year were also welcomed: the Master’s Degree in Cognitive Science and Education and the Master’s Degree in Informatics Teaching.
